"SkinMechanix is the alter-ego of Sunderland-based David James Hughes.
The SkinMechanix project began life way back in 1999 as a heady fusion of Dance / techno with Berlin School Kraut Rock. These days, they’ve shifted into darker territory, producing an intensely melodic mix of energetic, instrumental electronica heavily influenced by the likes of Depeche Mode, Numan and Nine Inch Nails.
At the moment, they’re working on a new studio album, Sirens, which should be out in time for the festival, as well as a number of short film projects too.
The band are also well known for their strong and effective visuals which accompany their live performances. Expect something special tonight.”
