We thought he was dead but he still called the man a pass master said he passed it so good they should call him the pastor but I had to infer to this mister that although he persisted to be good with a ball that compliment made no sense.
He hadn't moved for a good ten minutes, neither sinner nor tin could muster a response from our fallen brethren.
But then the words he uttered caused offence that resonated through not only space and time but also through time and space, until everyone realised the gravity of the subject matter the risen dead had cried.
And it was nothing.
Nothing more to be heard from the next stage to a corpse as he lay there foreshadowing what we were to become.
Sooner than we'd had hoped but clearly not quick enough.
And it was nothing.
As we stole glances in to the back of each others skulls.
Hoping to discern what the other was made from.
Nothing,
At least nothing newer than I learned on a TV show on some channel, some time, somewhere.
Some bearing the tokens of success from this form of education.
And so I shut my eyes.
And still he grumbled on.
Pulling sentences from desperate caverns bearing great machinery, churning.
Churning nothing.
So we followed the clock, hands calling out numbers, ticking a line as holy books supported our latest endeavour.
Our endeavours in to nothing.
And so I shut my eyes.
And still we grumbled on.
Pulling sentences from holy books bearing great prophecy, yearning,
Yearning for nothing.
